| Basler Introduces the A504k
A High-speed CMOS Area Scan Camera November, 2002 Basler Vision Components (Basler-VC) adds a new member to its A500
Series of area scan cameras the BASLER A504k. The A504k boasts an acquisition rate
of up to 500 frames per second at full 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution, and using the
cameras Area of Interest (AOI) capability to capture lower resolution images will
allow even higher frame rates. At VGA resolution, for example, the camera can capture up
to 1066 frames per second. The introduction of the A504k emphasizes Baslers
leadership position in the market segment for high-speed industrial area scan cameras. The A504k is available in either a monochrome or a color version. It includes features such as a full frame shutter, a flash trigger output, and a dynamic AOI feature that can be used to track an object as it moves through the cameras field of view. A standard computer monitor connector on the camera outputs a VGA image for use as a viewfinder. The A504k also includes Baslers popular test image feature and a LED indicator, which serve as troubleshooting and system integration aids. This camera is ideal for applications such as crash testing, 3-D holographic data storage, human motion analysis, and digital archiving. It is a powerful new tool for camera users who require extreme speed at megapixel resolution in a very compact package, says Ingo Lewerendt, Vision Components Product Manager. Prototype A504k cameras are currently available and full production release is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2002. Basler-VC designs and manufactures advanced vision components for industrial users. Products include color and monochrome line scan and area scan digital cameras for high speed and/or high-resolution applications. Product designs are driven by industry requirements offering easy interfacing, compact size, and a strong price / performance ratio. |
