the IMPACT T10 Intelligent Camera The
first intelligent camera with all the
features of a full-scale vision system |
MINNEAPOLIS, May 4, 2004/PR Newswire/ -- PPT VISION, Inc. (Nasdaq:
PPTV) today announced the
introduction of the IMPACT T10, an economical, next-generation intelligent camera. With
the introduction of the IMPACT T10, PPT has dramatically expanded its family of products
of powerful IMPACT machine vision micro-systems. Sharing the robust IMPACT platform
developed for advanced image processing applications, the IMPACT T10 is a compact,
self-contained intelligent camera solution that is easy to use and program, and is
designed to be the first intelligent camera with all the features of a full-scale vision
system.
PPT VISION made the announcement and is demonstrating the
IMPACT T10 at The Vision Show in Boston this week, sponsored by the Automated Imaging
Association, North Americas leading machine vision trade association. The Vision
Show is North Americas leading showcase of machine vision components, systems and
solutions .
"While (most of today's) intelligent cameras have
been around since the 90's, there has never been a camera that shares the architecture of
a high-performance machine vision micro-system," stated Joe Christenson, President of
PPT VISION, Inc. "The IMPACT T10 incorporates the speed and power of next generation
image processing hardware, along with PPTs own Inspection Builder software
incorporating a comprehensive, easy-to-use visual programming toolkit, making it the first
high-end intelligent camera for applications that demand an economical inspection
solution." "Users can create complete turnkey inspection solutions quickly and
easily including a real-time operator interface, custom designed for their plant
floor," added Christenson. "With the introduction of the IMPACT T10 intelligent
camera and the proven capabilities of IMPACT micro-systems, we now offer a cost-effective
inspection solution covering the full range of applications from simple to complex. We are
now able to meet the vision inspection needs of virtually any company. The introduction of
the IMPACT T10 has significantly expanded the size of our addressable market,
concluded Mr. Christenson.
When IMPACT was first introduced in September 2002, PPT
VISION created a new vision industry category with the first micro-system solutions that
made high performance inspection tools available at a much lower price. IMPACT has been
deployed worldwide in demanding vision applications as diverse as automotive, electronics,
medical device and character inspection.
New High End IMPACT and Software Enhancements
Also Introduced
Coinciding with the introduction of the IMPACT T10 , PPT
VISION also announced an extension to the high-performance side of the IMPACT family with
the IMPACT C20. The C20 is the most powerful IMPACT micro-system hardware platform
to date, incorporating additional memory and image processing performance for the most
advanced and complex inspection applications. In addition, the company also released
version 5.0 of the Inspection Builder software suite, which contains a broader range of
inspection tools and enhanced ease-of-use features.
