Overview
DATAX™is
a system solution providing signal conditioning and modular data acquisition capability
for the PC. The DATAX System is composed of a rugged enclosed DATAX Box for easy modular
connectivity, with a USB data acquisition function inside. With 16 slots for any
combination of DAQ and PAD Modules, you can create virtually any kind of system
imaginable. Just add your PC or laptop and the free Data Acquisition Omni CD TM software,
and you have a complete customised data acquisition system, with great signal
conditioning, isolation, and over-voltage input protec-tion. That’s the DATAX
advantage! The DAQ and PAD plug-in modules adapt your data acquisition system to accept a
wide variety of physical and electrical signals. No matter what physical or electrical
phenomenon you need to capture, chances are there’s a DATAX module that can handle
it! Strain, Pressure-sure, vibration, voltage, current, tempera-ture... whatever your
needs. Plus 1000 V rms isolation, exceptionally low noise, and multiple range/filter
selections on each plug-in module!
Extensive Software Support
The main ready-to-run software is the Scope Application Program, developed specifically
for use with the DATAX System. Scope emulates three basic instruments: a simple
oscillographic chart recorder, a data logger and a multi-channel oscilloscope. You can
monitor data online and capture it to disk either manually or automatically based on
trigger conditions. In addition, you can capture data to different files at different
sample rates in both the chart recorder and scope modes simultaneously and at different
sample rates. The intuitive GUI lets you point and click to perform measurement functions
of your DATAX system.
Scope comes with the free Data Acquisition Omni CD,
featuring all the software you need to use our data acquisition boards and develop
applications. The Omni CD application software is based on DT-Open Layers
In addition to Scope, the Omni CD contains the
following components:
- DataAcq SDK is a Software Development Kit consisting of
the necessary header files, libraries, example programs, and documentation to develop your
own DT-Open Layers data acquisi-tion and control applications.
- TestPoint Evaluation Package is drag-and-drop software for
designing test, measurement and data acquisition applications that gives you all the
capabilities of TestPoint Professional Development System. The CD includes video tutorials
and program examples for ease in applying TestPoint without programming.
- TestPoint Run-Time Data Acquisition Application was
created using the TestPoint Professional Development System, and gives you access to all
functions of the data acquisition board to collect, save, and display data. You can use
the TestPoint Run-Time application for basic data acquisition functions of your Data
Translation board. Using TestPoint Run-Time, you will get a sense of the power and
flexibility of the software, and you can easily upgrade to the full TestPoint Professional
Data Acquisition Omni CD
Development System.
- Quick DataAcq™ is a menu-driven, ready to run
application, created using Data Translation’s DTx-EZ TM controls and Microsoft ®
Visual Basic ® . Quick DataAcq allows you to verify the operation of your Data
Translation board, collect A/D data, display data to the screen and save data to disk. The
application source code is included. • Device Drivers for all Data Translation USB
and PCI data acquisition boards, including the core DLLs, drivers, control panels, utility
software, and documentation.

Choices For Your Application: DATAX Standard and
DATAX Custom
DATAX Standard
The DATAX Standard is a pre-configured system. It includes seven standard module:
two voltage amplifiers, one high voltage, one bridge, one TRQ, and one thermocouple
module. Customizable For Your Application If you choose, we will help you to create a
DATAX Custom system with different combinations of DAQ and PAD modules to suit your
specific application needs. There are really no limitations on which modules can be
installed in which slots.
DATAX Standard – comes with two DAQP-V-B
modules, one DAQP-DMM, one DAQP-BRIDGE, one DAQP-uV, one DAQP-TRQ, and one DAQN-THERM
module.
DATAX Custom – select your own modules. Both
systems include the free Data Acquisition Omni CD for Windows 95/98/NT.
